Vanguard Plumbing & Heating was founded by lead heating engineer Thomas Vance in 2011, after nearly a decade as a senior technical diagnostic specialist for major national energy firms. Frustrated by how those firms treated local homeowners — extortionate rates, inconsistent scheduling and zero personal accountability — he launched Vanguard from his kitchen table in Altrincham with a single van and a clear philosophy: combine the technical standards and safety protocols of a national firm with the care, punctuality and honest pricing of a trusted local business.

Today Vanguard is a tightly knit team of local Gas Safe engineers, master tilers and system designers. We never employ pushy, commission-based salespeople or cut corners with cheap materials. We live and work in the communities we serve, so we approach every boiler installation, leaking pipe and bathroom project as if we were working in our own family home — on time, respectful of your floors, charging exactly what we quote and standing behind every seal we crimp.
